November Meeting Minutes







Present were:  Wendy Burnett, Renetta Pollock, Amy Fox, Deanna Kaech, Angie Witzel, Richard Kessler, Steve Menefee, Becky Cleator, Jennifer Petersen, and Donna Weatherly
 
 
1.  Call to Order at 6:31 pm
 
2.  Reading of Minutes:  Becky approved and Wendy seconded
 
3.  Wild Buffalo Wings – Results & Next Event:  The Weatherly family will be handing out flyers on Dec. 28.
 
4.  Directors Report: It has been a good season for growth.   Band students will get a commemorative t-shirt.  Winter band concert rehearsal has begun.  Concert is Dec. 7.
 
5. Committee Reports
  • Treasurers Report – Renetta Pollock:  We have an assortment of gift cards for people to buy.
  • Uniforms – Wendy Burnett:  New jackets arrived on Nov. 5.  Wendy and a couple of students will issue jackets and gauntlets on Friday, Nov. 6 prior to leaving for Auburn.
  • Communications – Becky/Jennifer:  The division of labor is working very well.

8.  New Business
  • Fund Raisers
    • Butter Braids – Donna:  29 students sold Butterbraids.  Total collected was $4,668.00.  Our portion is $2,334.00 which will be distributed into student’s accounts.  Pick up butterbraids after school on November 17.  Email reminder for pick up will be sent out a couple nights prior to this date.
    • Chocolate – Amy Fox: Amy will break up boxes to make multi-packs for the kids to sell.  Amy will hand out packets at TT on Nov. 14.  Candy bars are $2 each and all money is due on Dec. 14.  Students should be reminded to write their names on the fundraiser envelopes.
    • Dec 7th Band Concert – Donna:  Boosters will have a bake sale in the lobby of the auditorium.
    • TT & Mattress Sale – Fall/Spring:  Set up is on Nov. 13 at 5:00 pm, Renetta is making a display table for items to sell.  Randy Kaech is working on having the band show playing on a TV screen during TT.  There was discussion about where to put the bake sale.  Suggestions included making it a booth so that the boosters can set up tables and chairs in the foyer for people to sit and eat.
  • The Boys and Girls Club would like the band to perform for the kids at the club.  Possibly just the drum line.
  • A request was made by an alumni to borrow a flute to play at a funeral.
  • The booster president for FHS, Victor Boulos, would like to involve the band boosters in their organization.  He would like to have a band booster on their board.  Renetta said she would like to attend one of their meetings if invited to do so.
 
Next Band Booster meeting is Thursday, December 3, at 6:30pm, in the band room.
