March Meeting Minutes


Present were:  Steve Menefee, Renetta Pollock, Jennifer Petersen, Amy Fox, Wendy Burnett, Deanna Kaech, Donna Weatherly, Becky Cleator, and Angie Witzel.

 Call to order at 6:34 pm.

 The February minutes were approved without correction.

 Director’s Report:  The cost for the Disneyland trip will be about $900 per student.  An intent form will be going out soon.  Payment schedule will begin in September of 2016.  Future activities are as follows:

All District Gala – March 21 at 7:00 pm.  Kids arrive at 6:15.  The booster board will provide baked good for the bake sale during the concert.

            Wind Ensemble Lg. Group Contest at WWU – March 23

            Trinkets and Treasures/Mattress Sale – May 7 at 9:00 am

            Pt. Townsend Parade – May 21

            Ski to Sea Parade – May 28

            Spring Concert – May 31

            Band Picnic – June 2

            Band Camp begins – August 22

 Treasurer’s Report:  One student still owes $48 for a box of chocolate bars.  This student has withdrawn from FHS.

 Uniforms:  Nothing to report.

 Communication:  All of the booster meeting minutes are now on the band booster website.  Becky will be adding a butterbraid order reminder to the website and Deanna will put it on the FB page.  All orders and monies are due on Tuesday, March 8.  Butterbraids can be picked up on March 22 right after school.

 Trinkets and Treasures:  May 7.  Starting March 7, no signs will be allowed in Ferndale for 6 months.  Band boosters can certainly put them in their yards to help advertise.  The trinkets and treasures will be from 9:00 – 3:00 and the mattress sale will be from 10:00 – 4:00.  Any items for the garage sale can be brought to the gym on Friday evening, May 6.

 New Business:  Several fundraising opportunities were discussed for planning in the coming months.
