April Meeting Minutes

FHS BAND BOOSTERS
MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 14, 2016

  

Present were:  Donna Weatherly, Renetta Pollock, Wendy Burnett, Amy Fox, Deanna Kaech, Steve Menefee, Lucia Kinley, Floyd Kinley, Amanda and Shane Boblet, Angie Witzel, Tasha Miller, Virginia Gonzalez, Lisa Drinkwater, Robin Erickson

 Meeting called to order: 6:35pm

 March minutes were read and approved by Renetta Pollock and seconded by Tasha Miller.

 Directors Report:  Wind ensemble performed up at Western and for the 1st time in 10 years received a superior rating

 Disneyland trip:   Sample itinerary was handed out (included).  Pending school board approval temporary dates are June 2 – June 5th.   Total will be $925.  First payment due in October. 

 Mattress Fundraiser:  Same day as the Trinkets and Treasurers (May 7th)  Each student that brings in someone who purchases a mattress gets $50.00 per mattress that will go to the students band account.  Flyers were handed out to distribute to friends and family.   Same mattresses that you can get at retail stores in town but 30-50% less.  Talk to your friends/family, share on facebook, put a sign in your yard to advertise.  Last year the band earned $4200.00 that went towards our fall show and also towards student accounts ($1100.00 of the $4200.00 went to student accounts).  Prices  range from approximately $199-$2600 (price includes box spring and mattress) .  There will be 15 mattressess there to look at.  Removal of old mattress will be available at a cost of about $35.00. 

 Treasurers Report:  $2750 from butterbraid sales, $2450 from BP for all the hard work Pat Pollock has volunteered.

 Uniforms:  Will be refitting kids with uniforms starting on Monday May 2nd during parade practice so they look good for the parades.   Anyone that can come help the more the merrier.

 Trinkets and Treasures Craft and Flea Market:  May 7th  9:00am-3:00pm.  Will set up the night before.  We have 22 vendors right now.  Sandwich boards will be put in 3 different locations.  Need help with setting up Friday night from 5-7pm.  Tear down will be from 3-5pm on Saturday.  Need students to help get the vendors lunches around noon.  Please bring garage sale items Friday night or Saturday morning.  Need help with baking for bake sale.

May 2,  – Parade Practice 6:00-7:00pm

May 7th – Trinkets and Treasurers and Mattress Sale

May 21st – Port Townsend Parade

May 28th – Ski to Sea Parade

May 31st – Spring Concert

June 2nd – Band Picnic (Held at BP)

August 22nd – Band Camp begins at Custer Elementary

  

Next Meeting will be held May 5th.  We will have elections for at least 3 openings on the board.
