July Meeting Minutes


Present was Amy Fox, Renetta Pollock, Tasha Miller, Steve Menefee, Wendy Burnett, Jennifer Pettersen, Jennifer Vogelzang, Angie Witzel & Lisa Drinkwater

 Minutes:  Renetta Pollock motion to accept the May minutes and Wendy Burnett seconded it.  Passed

Director’s Report:  Horizon is the destination for band camp. 9 am to 8 pm.   We may have to pay for custodial services.

Date is not finalized for band trip to Disneyland.

Knock down the Walls for Jericho is the show.

Treasurer’s Report:  done by Renetta Pollock.  6717 check was corrected.  $27,000.00 in bank account.

Mattress sale $3,000.00 brought in 6th – 8th  graders  were included in sale. Younger students brought in most money.  $75 was delivery fee & another fee was for a local guy to pick up.  People thought that was too much.  $2,000.00 for Treasurers and Trinkets after expenses for Spring event. 

Uniforms:   Uniforms need to be washed.  All information will be recorded electronically instead of on paper for fittings.  Talk about having strap on bottom of pants instead of no strap.   It was decided to keep the pants the same with no straps on them.  We need to order more pants and shakos:  extra large, more mediums, & smalls but will wait until fitting because we didn’t have enough for the kids. 

Communications:  Lisa Drinkwater said that she could keep it up.  Seniors need to be added to Lemina list.

Volunteer:    Calendar is set up for sign ups and test run worked.   Volunteer Spot is the calendar program that was used and is user friendly.

Unfinished Business:  None

New Business:  Tour de Whatcom is July 23, 2016, Saturday.  Times will be sent out later.  Kids who volunteer get first choice on bus.  Need to have food handlers permit.  Donna-Alger captain & Amy Fox-Ferndale captain.

Don’t use BBQ at camp Lutherwood because they will charge us for using it.

Band Counsel & greeters  usually get $100.  Renetta Pollock motion to give no more than $100 to band counsel and greeters & Jennifer Vogelzang  2nd it. Past

Jennifer Petterson nominated Tasha Miller in as secretary and Renetta Pollock 2nd it. Past

Sept. 2, 2016, need food handlers permit to volunteer to work in food booth.

August  1, 2016, paperwork is sent out that kids need to sign up for band August 18, 2016, registration is from 4pm-6pm. Swim form needs to be filled out and $40 ASB needs to be paid before camp. $175 or August 22, 2016.

Trailer is going to be checked out for safety.   Window on golf cart.

Pioneer Days July 30, 2016, @ 10 am & march @ 11 am.

$1.50 to sell 1.5 oz of Kracklin’ Kamut.  Kids get 50 percent of profit.  Low carb, no sugar, and  all natural.  Email band if you want to sell them.  Going to try giving out samples at games.

Looking to sell LED “ Light up 12” with a $10 profit out of $30 to each student that sells one.

Butterbraids need someone to head up selling them.  Jennifer Vogalzang volunteered to be the go to person.  Sold before Thanksgiving and Easter.

Need someone to head up Trinkets and Treasurers.  Nov. 19, 2016 is 7 am – 4pm.
